Abstract The objective of this presentation is to discuss infectious disease as an interface between national and international security. This topic belongs to the conceptualisation of new security threats derived from its acute dynamics in worldwide-global aspects. A thorough analysis of infectious diseases will help understand the multi-facets challenges of this threat as well as its domino-effects on its evoking new threats.  The overall strategic management circle in security and safety will be introduced as a comprehensive model that allows an integrated approach as a response with direct relevance to national as well as to international security interests.   Keywords—infectious diseases; hybrid threats; the politics of infectious disease, strategic disaster management circle

 

Biography:   Dr. Rachel Suissa is a teaching associate and a senior research fellow at the National Security Program in theSchool of Political Sciences and at the Haifa Center for German and European Studies, Israel. Her research interests encompass Security Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Studies. She has been engaged in several activities in the EUas a Policy Evaluation Expert- EU Parliament, such as Expert Evaluator- EU Horizon 2020 Research Program; DJ-JUSTICE Proposals, and as a participant in EU FP7. Dr. Rachel Suissa has won several Awards and Grants among them:- FP7- FOCUS  Fore sighting the Contribution of Security Research to Meet the Future EU Roles - www.focusproject.eu. Her publications encompass a wide range of multi-disciplinary security studies.   Bottom Note:
