Purpose: Fi evaluate di value a pupil cycle time (PCT) measurements inna patients wid glaucoma.
Material an Methods: 40 eyes a 40 patients weh did have primary open angle glaucoma an 35 eyes a 35 healthy subjects did enrol inna dis study. Inna unilateral cases di glaucomatous did study an inna bilateral cases di studyed eye did determine randomly inna both groups wen both eyes did eligible. All patients did underwent ophthalmologic examinations, including best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), slit-lamp biomicroscopy, Goldmann applanation tonometry, gonioscopy, visual field testing, PCT measurement an optical coherence tomography (OCT). Two groups did compare using di chi-squared test fi categorical variables an wid di independent t test fi non-categorical parameters. Correlations a PCT results wid age a di patients, duration a glaucoma (years), bes corrected visual acuity (BCVA), mean deviation (MD) an pattern standard deviation (PSD) a visual field an OCT parameters dem did analyze wid Pearson correlation analysis test.
Results: Mean age was 63.5 ± 9.5 inna glaucoma patients, an 62.2 ± 7.2 inna healthy subjects (p=0.453). Rate a females was 62.5% inna glaucoma patients, an 54.2% inna healthy subjects (p=0.323). Mean PCT was 947.5 ± 65.5 ms inna di glaucoma group, whereas it was 888 ± 33.8 ms inna healthy subjects (p=0.030). Deh did have a significant correlation between PCT an ada variables including age a di patients (R: 0.331, p=0.001), duration a glaucoma (R: 0.457, p<0.001), BCVA (R:-0.396, p<0.001), ganglion cell-inner plexiform layer (GC-IPL) thickness ( R:-0.457, p<0.001 ) an retinal nerve fiber layer thickness (RNFLT) (R:-0.676, p<0.001). Deh did have a prominent lengthening a PCT while reducing BCVA, RNFLT an GC-IPL thickness.
Conclusion: PCT measurements did show a significant correlation wid OCT parameters inna wi study. Further prospective studies are needed fi evaluate di value a PCT inna glaucoma patients.
