Canopy management practises in mango may be helpful in sustaining the quality fruit production in high density mango orchards and to achieve potential yield per unit area without having any deteriorating effect on quality attributes. Ideal canopy for efficient light utilization for better photosynthesis and the leaves inside the canopy will no longer act as parasitic for leaves of top and peripheral branches. Further, more availability of light in canopy will also reduce the chance of pest and diseases, which will ultimately reduce the cost of cultivation and by this way socioeconomic status of orchardist will be automatically improved.
